PCD5 £21,968 per annum, pro rata, term time
Required from 17th April 2023. This post is temporary until 19th July 2023 to cover Maternity Leave.
22.5 hours per week (3 days each week 8.30am - 4pm). Days to be agreed.
The Governors of Irthington Village School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join our dedicated, hard-working and highly effective staff team. The successful candidate will be mainly working in Key Stage 1 but with the ability to provide support to the class Teachers throughout the school when required and will:
- Hold a relevant qualification (at least NVQ2 or equivalent).
- Have recent experience of working with young children, preferably within mixed age range classes but this is not essential.
- Be enthusiastic and highly motivated and committed to supporting the class teacher in assisting our pupils achieve their full potential.
- Be flexible and able to demonstrate the ability to work within a dedicated team.
- Can help to create a stimulating and imaginative environment for pupils to inspire their learning.
Irthington Village School is a small rural primary school, located in the centre of Irthington, with a catchment area including the villages of Newtown and Laversdale. Pupils are aged from 3 - 11 years and are taught in three mixed aged classes. We are a friendly and welcoming school, where everyone is kind and caring. Staff are supportive of each other and have high expectations of pupils' behaviour and learning. A recent Ofsted Inspection (November 2022) judged the school to be good. The school has achieved Fairtrade status and has developed good links with the local community.
