Class One have been very busy since coming back to school in September. Our topic this term is India we have enjoyed learning about this country. In the afternoons we have enjoyed a range a different fun lesson.
In RE we have looked at sharing food equally and how around the world there is lots of food, but some people only have a small amount. We bought a tiger loaf and asked the children would it be fair if they only got a small piece and Mrs Harrison got a big piece. They all enjoyed a piece of bread either on its own or with honey on.
In PE we have enjoyed learning some Indian dance and we enjoy our weekly cricket sessions with Frasier.
In Music lessons we have enjoyed singing different songs and 1 week we even got the musical instruments out to play. It was a very noisy lesson that day!
In Geography we have been looking at maps, of both the UK and the world. We have labelled maps and we have even coloured in a world map and made it into our own jigsaw.
In PSHE we have had a range of different health and wellbeing lessons and looking after our bodies. We have had a lesson on the Eatwell plate where we made our own balanced packed lunches. We have looked at our feelings, our morning and night-time routines, catch it, bin it and kill it where we looked at germs. This was our favourite lesson. Miss Simpson sneezed and blew her germs (pom-poms) all over us. Then we had 3 children come and put their hands in a plate of glitter (germs), they had to shake hands with everyone in the class. By the end of the lesson every child had glittery hands and had to wash their hands properly with soap to get all the glitter off.
In science we have looked at our bodies and labelled our body parts. Luckily we were very good at this and were able to correctly labels our arms, legs, fingers, head and so on. We then had 2 lessons on our senses. Our first session we looked at our sight, hearing, touching and smell by going on a walk around the school grounds to see what we could see, hear, touch and smell. Our second session was very fun we looked at our taste. We tasted a range of things and we had some funny faces being pulled with the different foods!
