Chinese New Year Assembly

On Thursday 3rd February we had two visitors from Tullie House called Tian and Jackie. They came to tell us all about Chinese New Year. They came and told us the story of the Jade Emperor who organised the race.

He rewarded the 12 animals that turned up by naming a year in the zodiac after them, the race would determine the order each of the animals were placed. Jackie and Tian brought lots of hats for the children to wear and take part in lining up in the correct winning order. They also showed us the Lion and Dragon dance and let the children hold the Chinese Dragon and take part in the dance along with the Lion head.
