Class One have been very busy since coming back to school in September. Our topic this term is India we have enjoyed learning about this country.

In Literacy we have been learning about Fairtrade Indian tea. We learnt about the Adivasi people who work and own the Madhuvana tea estate in Devala near Chembakolli. We also enjoyed tasting different Indian Fairtrade tea. Look at our super display. We have enjoyed learning about Rama and Sita, we made a beautiful display ion our classroom and enjoyed making our own Diva lamps.  Nursery and Reception enjoyed making our very own river Ganges and Reception have been practicing writing their names.

In Numeracy we have learnt about lots of different things we have been learning to count and form numbers to 6 in Nursery & Reception and to 20 in Year 1. We have done lots on repeating patterns, with painting, making fruit kebabs, nature patterns and pasta necklaces. We have worked on measuring with toys, leaves, our hands and even the teacher’s scarves.
