The Fairtrade Group gave an assembly to the rest of the school on the theme of this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight – Climate Change.

On Tuesday 8th February, Action Ants came into school. John and Andrew worked with all classes throughout the day.

On Thursday 3rd February we had two visitors from Tullie House called Tian and Jackie. They came to tell us all about Chinese New Year. They came and told us the story of the Jade Emperor who organised the race.

Class One loved their trip to Paddington Bear Workshop at Tullie House on Wednesday 2nd February. We loved listening to a story and looking at all the fabulous things in cabinets that belonged to Michael Bond such as his typewriter.

On Monday 17th January 2022 Zozo came into school to teach all the children African drumming. The school split up into two groups. The first group was KS2 and the second group was KS1.

On Monday 6th December we had Franc Karpo a magician come to school as a surprise for the children.  The children loved watching all the magic tricks and were especially impressed with the finale when a live bunny appeared!

Irthington School PTA organised their latest Clothing Collection in collaboration with the Great North Air Ambulance and were amazed by the fantastic amount of bags, which were dropped off at school. 

Rota Kids held their first fundraising event on Wednesday 3rd November. They organised a Halloween Disco. Games were played and much dancing was done!

Irthington School were delighted to hand over a cheque for £204.00 to Blood Bikes Cumbria.  The money was raised by last year’s ROTA kids for this very worthwhile cause.
